Fred L. Cohen, a noted financial risk management consultant in corporate treasury and a retired advisory leader and hedge accounting compliance specialist from PricewaterhouseCoopers, has been appointed to the Board of Directors at Reval, the global leader in derivative risk management and hedge accounting solutions.
Reval is the first corporate board Cohen has joined post retirement.

Cohen became familiar with Reval in 2000 when he was co-lead of the Financial Risk Management group for the Americas at PwC, where, among other knowledge areas, he specialized in helping companies comply with Financial Accounting Standard No. 133 (FAS 133).

Cohen retired from PricewaterhouseCoopers in 2008 as Global and US Advisory Leader for the Energy, Utility and Mining industry sectors. He advised US utilities on business strategy, financial and enterprise risk management and financial and management reporting. Prior to PwC, he spent a decade at KPMG where he built a treasury consulting practice integrating advisory, assurance and tax practices. He also worked in financial services as a Vice President at Chemical Bank and at First Pennsylvania Bank. Currently, Cohen is Managing Director of Perception Advisors, a consultancy on the strategic business implications of enterprise risk, political risk, climate change and financial risk management. He is also involved with the development of sustainability and climate training programs for companies and universities and is a frequent speaker and writer on issues important in his areas of expertise. He holds a BA in Political Science from Rutgers College, an MBA in Finance and Accounting from Drexel University and participated in the Executive Education, International Program at Wharton School.
