The Euro Banking Association (EBA) announced today that Thomas Kraft, Senior Vice- President - Retail Banking - Relations de Place at BNP Paribas, has been unanimously co-opted to the Board of Directors of the EBA.

"I would like to thank the French banking community, which asked me to represent them within the Board of EBA Association. It is a great pleasure for me to join the EBA Board as a representative of BNP Paribas and of the French community of EBA banks," said Thomas Kraft. "Both the French community and BNP Paribas are strongly committed to driving industry dialogue and some of the key pan-European initiatives in the collaborative interbank space through the Euro Banking Association. I look forward to working with my fellow Board members on further progressing these co-operative projects and work strands for the benefit of our member banks and the wider industry."

Thomas Kraft takes over the Board mandate previously held by Jean-Yves Garnier of Natixis, who retired from the EBA Board after 11 years of service.

"I would like to welcome Thomas Kraft to the EBA Board, where we are very pleased to count among our Directors an eminent representative of the French banking community," said Hansjörg Nymphius, Chairman of the EBA. "The Board would also like to thank Jean-Yves Garnier for his contribution to our work since he joined our ranks in
1998. We very much appreciated his commitment to the EBA and his support in taking forward major pan-European payment infrastructure solutions and other projects we delivered in the past 11 years."
