Matt Mandalinci, former president of SunGard's Energy business unit, has taken a new position as president and chief customer officer of SunGard Higher Education. Previously, Mr. Jackson was chief operating officer of SunGard's Kiodex business unit. Prior to joining SunGard in 2006, Mr. Jackson held executive positions at The Bank of New York, James Martin and Co (Headstrong), KeyBank and Andersen (Accenture).

The primary solution brands that Mr. Jackson will oversee within the Energy and Commodities solutions business unit are Aligne (including Zainet, Aces, GTM, Softworx, and Fame Energy), Entegrate and Kiodex (including the recently launched Kiodex Real Time solution) The solution sets are complementary: Kiodex, delivered on a software-as-a-service basis, provides commodity trading, risk management, independent valuation and market data for those firms that trade commodities financially; while the Energy solutions offer straight-through processing, enterprise-wide risk management, scheduling and logistics for those companies that transact business around physical energy and other commodities.

Combining the Energy and Kiodex teams will help SunGard grow its business in energy and commodities with shared resources and services. Both teams serve energy companies, financial institutions and corporations. They have a close working relationship and already support several joint customers. Most recently, it was announced that Ameren Energy Marketing went live on Kiodex Real Time, which it integrated with its existing implementation of Aligne.
