Deutsche Bank today announced the launch of its Asia Gateway Initiative by integrating a number of value-added cash management solutions comprising Very Early Processing, Direct Customer Transfer and Future Advising services.

This initiative addresses the challenges faced by financial institutions when making Euro and USD payments to beneficiaries in the region due to differing time zones, languages, and lack of incountry coverage.

Asia Gateway leverages Deutsche Bank's in-country customer service centers which have expertise in the local banking practices across all the major markets in Asia. In addition to the extensive geographic reach ensuring on-the-ground coverage in key markets, Deutsche Bank also offers a 24 hour operating model that synchronizes with the Asian business day. Key to this initiative are the following integrated cash management solutions:

  • Very Early Processing (VEP) -The Bank's VEP is a time sensitive execution tool for efficiently managing liquidity. VEP begins the processing of transactions in the evening (Eastern Time) before value date, allowing payment advices to be released to beneficiary banks in Asia whenever required during their business day regardless of any time-zone differences.
  • Direct Customer Transfer (DCT) - The DCT service eliminates cover payments, allowing clients to save on messaging and reconciliation costs. Under DCT, upon receipt of a client instruction, Deutsche Bank immediately dispatches the payment advice to the beneficiary bank in Asia simultaneously with the cover funds.
  • Future Advising - The Bank's Future Advising is designed for clients that require the beneficiary bank to be pre-advised. Under this service, Deutsche Bank will advise the beneficiary bank up to two business days prior to value date and payments can be made according to the client's release schedule.

Paul Camp, Global Head of Cash Management Financial Institutions, Global Transaction Banking, Deutsche Bank, says, "Wherever our clients are located - Asia, the Americas, Middle East, or Europe - our Asia Gateway offering enables our clients to be successful in managing their payment flows into, out of, and within Asia."
