Kx expands into Asia

Kx Systems, the leader in high-performance database and timeseries analysis, has opened an Asian office to be headed by Chris Burke.

Chris has many years' experience in IT, where his primary focus has been on financial and mathematical programming in the banking and insurance sectors. He started at IP Sharp Associates, working in Toronto and Zurich on financial databases and global risk management systems. At Benetech, Ernst and Young, he led the development of pricing and valuation systems for the Canadian banks' credit card and personal services divisions. Later he formed Strand Software, providing consultancy and development to financial clients worldwide, working on treasury, compliance reporting, risk management and budgeting systems. He is a partner in Jsoftware and one of the principal developers of the Jsoftware programming system. Chris has been based in Asia for the last 8 years, and in Hong Kong since 2004.



Chris says: "I have been familiar with Kx for some years, and am excited to join the team and become more deeply involved with Kx technology. I look forward to helping to build Kx's Asian base."
