Bolsas y Mercados Españoles adds Mercedes Vérgez Sánchez to the board
Bolsas y Mercados Españoles (BME) has communicated to the CNMV, the Spanish stock market regulator, that a new Board member, Mercedes Vérgez Sánchez, was appointed by co-option to the Board of Directors during the company's meeting, held today, at the request of the Nomination and Remuneration Committee.

Mercedes Vérgez is Professor of Company Law and a permanent member of Company Law Section of the General Commission for Codification. She will take over from Manuel Pizarro Moreno, who resigned as a BME Director on 24 January 2008.
In accordance with article 6 of BME's Board of Directors' Internal Regulations, Mercedes Vérgez Sánchez has been regarded as an independent director, as she does not have personal or professional links to the company, its shareholders or managers. She will be in office until the company's next Annual General Shareholders Meeting.
