BondDesk names Stockett CFO; Himmo head of client service

BondDesk Group, a leading odd-lot fixed-income electronic trading platform, announced today that Greg Stockett has been named Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Tarek Himmo has been named Head of Client Service.

Stockett succeeded former CFO, Skipp Smith, while Himmo has been appointed to a new position. Both Stockett and Himmo will serve on BondDesk's operating committee and report to Peter Crosbie, BondDesk's CEO.

Stockett brings 20 years of finance experience to BondDesk, including 12 years in senior finance roles at emerging and mid-cap financial technology companies. At BondDesk, Stockett will be responsible for accounting and finance, legal and contract administration, investor relations, facilities and administration. Previously, Stockett served as the CFO of GoldenSource, Globeop Financial Services, and Barra, the pioneer and leading provider of sophisticated risk analytics and data to global asset managers. At Barra, Stockett spent more than eight years as both the Vice President of Finance and CFO, and ultimately led the sale of the firm to Morgan Stanley. Stockett began his professional career in the Bay Area with Deloitte & Touche, where he spent seven years in the audit practice focused on financial services. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley. Stockett is based in Mill Valley, Calif.

Himmo brings a wealth of diverse experience in asset management, risk management, financial advisory and banking. Most recently, he was an independent consultant in the financial industry and served as Head of Credit Investments with Toronto-based Dundee Wealth, in Canada. Previously, Himmo spent seven years as Managing Director of Client Service at KMV, a leading credit analytics firm which he joined in 1998. In that role, he led a global team responsible for business development and relationship management for a large number of the firm's key clients, including global banks, insurance and reinsurance companies, asset managers and hedge funds. Prior to that, Himmo spent seven years in various positions at Royal Bank of Canada, culminating with Head of New Financing Products and Portfolio Analytics, in which he worked on creating an active credit portfolio management unit and executed the bank's first credit derivatives trades to manage large loan concentration risks. He began his career in fixed income trading at the Gulf Bank of Kuwait. Himmo holds a Master's in Business Administration from McGill University, and a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Bradley University. He is working primarily out of the New York office for the remainder of 2008 and then in Mill Valley, Calif., where he is permanently based.
