NYSE Euronext (NYX) today appointed John K. Halvey to the position of General Counsel and Group Executive Vice President.
Mr. Halvey, who will join NYSE Euronext in early March, will be a member of the company's Management Committee and will be responsible for all NYSE Euronext legal activities, including the Office of the Corporate Secretary and Global Risk and Audit Services, but excluding NYSE Regulation. Mr. Halvey, most recently a corporate partner in the New York office of the international law firm of Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy, will report to Duncan L. Niederauer, Chief Executive Officer. He will replace Rachel F. Robbins, who has decided to leave the company.
Mr. Halvey, who joined Milbank Tweed Hadley & McCloy in 1986, is regarded as one of America's leading corporate technology and intellectual property attorneys. He has extensive experience with a wide variety of international corporate transactions including information technology and business process related transactions as well as private equity and joint venture transactions. Mr. Halvey has represented many of the world's largest corporations and has authored several books and numerous articles based on his professional experience.

Mr. Halvey has written numerous articles for publication and has authored four books: Business Process Outsourcing Transactions: Process, Strategies and Contracts; Information Technology Outsourcing Transactions: Process, Strategies and Contracts; Data Processing Contracts; and Computer Law and Related Transactions.
Mr. Halvey is a magna cum laude graduate of Tufts University, Emory University School of Business and Emory University School of Law, where he was an executive editor of the Law Review.
Separately, NYSE Euronext (NYX) today announced the appointment of Philippe Duranton as Group Executive Vice President and Global Head of Human Resources, effective March 3, 2008.
Mr. Duranton will be responsible for NYSE Euronext's worldwide human resources organization and will report to NYSE Euronext Chief Executive Officer Duncan L. Niederauer. Mr. Duranton will serve on the Company's Management Committee.
Mr. Duranton joins NYSE Euronext with over 20 years of experience in global human resources management and development, including senior positions with Gemplus, Vivendi Universal, and Thales. Prior to joining NYSE Euronext, Mr. Duranton served as Senior Vice President of Human Resources at Cognos, a leader in business intelligence.
Dale Bernstein, Executive Vice President, will oversee the company's U.S. human resources operation and report to Mr. Duranton. In addition to her human resources duties, Ms. Bernstein will continue to be responsible for the company's business ethics practice in the U.S. , oversee the company's Archives unit and Corporate Services, and serve as a director of the NYSE Foundation. Ms. Bernstein will serve on the company's Management Committee.
