Morse names Kevin Loosemore chairman; posts rising H1 pre-tax profit

As signalled last year, Morse plc ('Morse'), the advisory & execution professional services company announces the retirement of Richard Lapthorne from the Board and as Chairman with effect from 14 February 2008.

At the same time the Company is pleased to announce from the same date the appointment of Kevin Loosemore as Chairman.

In addition to his role as Chairman, Kevin will be appointed to the Nominations and Remuneration Committees of the Company, also with effect from 14 February 2008.

Kevin is currently Chairman of Micro Focus International plc and a Director of Farnham Castle. He was formerly Chief Operating Officer of Cable and Wireless plc, President of Motorola EMEA and Chief Executive of IBM UK.

Commenting on the appointment, Kevin Alcock, Chief Executive Officer of Morse, said: "We are delighted to welcome Kevin to the Board. Kevin brings with him a wealth of experience in the technology, services and telecoms sectors and I look forward to his support in executing Morse's strategy for growth. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Richard Lapthorne for his Chairmanship, commitment and significant contribution to the Company over the past ten years."

Kevin Loosemore, newly appointed Chairman of Morse, said: "I am excited to be joining the Morse Board at a time when the Company has repositioned itself to address the professional services market. I look forward to working with Kevin Alcock and his team to drive further the development of the business as a leading business and IT consultancy firm."
