FirstRain, the leading provider of search-driven research applications for investment professionals, today announced that Mary Henry has joined its board of directors.

Henry, who was a partner and managing director of Goldman Sachs, brings a stellar track record of more than 18 years as one of the leading stock analysts. Her experience with innovation and excellence in research strengthens FirstRain's board and brings additional relationships with, and insight to, the research community.

"Mary has spent years as a top resource for money managers investing in telecommunication technology companies during a period when those firms were redefining their industry," said Penny Herscher, president and CEO of FirstRain. "Moreover, her tenure has given her an exceptional perspective on the changing structure of the financial markets and the interconnections with corporations. We are delighted to have the benefit of her expertise and experience on the FirstRain board."

FirstRain provides a powerful information advantage to investment professionals. Through the use of search-driven research applications, FirstRain uncovers information that its customers wouldn't see otherwise to help portfolio managers and analysts ask better questions, generate ideas and identify trends to make better investment decisions faster.

Over 18 years at Goldman Sachs, primarily in the firm's Investment Research Division, Henry became one of the top-ranked analysts on Wall Street and was named an Institutional Investor All-Star analyst. She was personally involved in financings that totaled tens of billions of dollars and spanned a variety of technologies, initial public offerings and strategic advisory work. Henry started her career at Centel Corporation and Washington National Corporation before joining Goldman Sachs, and received a BA in Economics and an MS in Journalism from Northwestern University.

"Investment professionals are in the middle of a perfect storm with growing competition driving the search for a differentiated research process, Reg FD shutting down privileged information channels, and analyst coverage changing significantly" said Ms. Henry. "FirstRain has a terrific set of early customers and a pipeline of products that deliver a distinct advantage. I look forward to helping FirstRain drive the next wave of innovation in financial research."
