DSTi signs Cavendish; appoints Steve Cheng product manager, HiDataWarehouse

DST International (DSTi) – the leader in business solutions for the investment management industry today announced that Cavendish – a private wealth manager with £300million under management - have signed for HiInvest, DSTi's front and middle office suite – including HiFrontOffice, HiOrders, HiCompliance and HiPerformance - and HiPortfolio/3, DSTi's back office solution.

Once implemented, Cavendish will have a fully automated front to back office system.

Kim Holloway, DSTi's global sales director, said, "This is a fine example of DSTi's strategy of expanding into the private wealth market and our systems' scalability. It can meet the needs of both ends of the market from the smaller, more specialised asset management company to the larger global institutional players.

Michael Rosehill, Cavendish's Finance Director, said, "Cost of implementation and functionality were important to us, as was DSTi's commitment to its resources behind the products. Being well versed in implementation and their understanding of our business means their products are designed to meet our needs."

Cavendish Asset Management (CAM) manages funds for institutional and private clients over a wide spread of international stock markets and across a range of small and large companies. CAM currently has £300 million under management and is the fund management arm of Lewis Trust Group Limited, which is a privately owned trading and investment group.

Separately, DST International (DSTi) – the leader in business solutions for the investment management industry today announced that Steve Cheng has joined DSTi as head of product management for DSTi's market leading HiDataWarehouse solution.

Mr Cheng has over 16 years' experience in the financial information and software industry gained in a number of senior international product marketing positions at Reuters and Datastream (now Thomson Financial). Steve's career focus has encompassed all aspects of data management ranging from historical financial information; investment management systems and data feed delivery.

As head of product management for HiDataWarehouse Steve will be responsible for ensuring that HiDataWarehouse proposition is developed to meet the investment industry's increasing demands for mission critical data warehouse solutions.

Tim Rudlin, DSTi's international business strategy director, said, "HiDataWarehouse is a key product for us and we created the position because of the phenomenal amount of interest in the product. HiDataWarehouse is more than just a data warehouse and can be implemented in a number of different ways ranging from being the backbone of outsourcing - as evidenced by State Street - through to implementation as an in-house investment data hub – as evidenced by SWIP. As well as being a best of breed solution in its own right, HiDataWarehouse is the core of our HiTech architecture, that encompasses our front, middle and back office solutions. Obviously, this is a key role in our product management group and we welcome Steve."
