Nacha appoints Leslie Mitchell to risk management role

NACHA - The Electronic Payments Association has named Leslie Mitchell as Director, Network Risk Policy.

Leslie will be responsible for managing the development and deployment of risk management tools and policies for the Automated Clearing House (ACH) Network. She will also work closely with NACHA's member financial institutions, regional payments associations, and other industry organizations on payments system risk management matters.

"The ACH Network is a safe and reliable payments system, and NACHA is devoting the necessary staff and resources to make sure it stays that way," said Elliott C. McEntee, President and Chief Executive Officer of NACHA. "Leslie Mitchell brings considerable banking industry and risk management experience, knowledge, and expertise to NACHA that will undoubtedly contribute to preserving the safety and reliability of the ACH Network. I'm pleased to welcome her to our staff."

Mitchell has been active with NACHA for a number of years, serving on various industry groups and task forces, and speaking at NACHA events.

Prior to joining NACHA, Leslie was Manager, Operational Risk-Key Risk Indicator & Benchmarking Services with the Risk Management Association. She also served six years with BITS and the Financial Services Roundtable as a Senior Director. In addition to her association experience, Leslie completed the bank officer training program at Manufacturers Hanover Trust Co., and served as a lending officer at Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce. At BITS, Leslie staffed and served on numerous industry initiatives including the Cross-Channel Payments Forum, account-to-account transfers, authentication in the online banking environment, business-to-business e-commerce, and operational risk regulation, compliance and best practices.
