Advanced Payments Solutions appoints Tim Dean head of market development

Tim Dean, principle and founder of Payment Network Solutions Ltd (PNS), a prepaid debit card solutions consultancy, has joined specialist prepaid card company Advanced Payment Solutions (APS) as Head of Market Development.

Payment Network Solutions Ltd handled a growing portfolio of prepaid programmes on behalf of clients primarily from the sub-prime sector, acting as an interface between the client and suppliers, including APS, Nomad Software, Bluecorner Cards Ltd and Tuxedo Money Solutions.

Advanced payment Solutions Chief Executive Rich Wagner says Tim’s appointment adds significant fire power to its Business Development team, which is focusing on getting the lion's share of the market.

"APS is enjoying sustained, rapid growth. Tim Dean has intimate knowledge of the prepaid platform, commercial drivers and operational requirements for bringing a card programme to fruition, which will ensure we capitilise on our current opportunities.

"We enjoyed doing business with him at PNS and we are extremely pleased he has accepted our offer to join APS. The next 12 months are an important and exciting period for APS and we are delighted to have him on board with us as we embark upon a challenging growth plan. This appointment certainly adds to the talent bank of specialist prepaid personnel within APS," says Mr Wagner.

Mr Dean will head up market development for white label and co-branded, prepaid card programmes at APS, working alongside banks and major brand companies across all sectors. Under the agreed contract PNS will continue to operate independently and confidentially to deliver on all existing contracts. Subsequent deals signed post Mr Dean's appointment will be channeled through APS.

Commenting on his appointment Mr Dean explains it was an opportunity to have a bigger slice of a bigger pie.

"APS is very much at the top of its game in the prepaid sector and has an enviable reputation within the industry. Although PNS was very much a successful stand alone venture, by partnering with APS the business potential is simply magnified. It is an exciting commercial development."

Mr Dean has held a number of senior executive positions over the years, including roles at Dione plc, the UK's leading EFT terminal manufacturers, and was on the International Board of Directors at Tetra Business Systems (the accounting software specialist now part of the Sage Group).

Mr Dean holds a Bachelor of Commerce Honours Degree from the University of Birmingham, is a Fellow of the UK Institute of Sales and Marketing and has been recognised in its IT Sales Professional of the Year Awards.
