ABN Amro name Puneet Bahl head of cards, Asia

ABN AMRO announced today the appointment of Puneet Bahl as Head of Cards, Asia to drive the growth of its credit card business in the region.

In this regional position, Mr Bahl will be responsible for the development of ABN AMRO's credit card business in the region, capitalising on the tremendous growth opportunities the mass affluent market in Asia is offering. This new appointment reports to Jim Brown, Head of Consumer Clients, Asia and is effective immediately.

Mr Brown said: "The credit card business constitutes an important part of ABN AMRO's consumer growth strategy in Asia. Leveraging on our innovative product offering and global expertise in adapting to local consumers' changing needs, our credit card business is experiencing continued growth both in terms of customer acquisition and spending."

Mr Bahl has over 22 years experience in consumer marketing and leadership in packaged consumer products and financial services, with global financial services firms.

Prior to joining ABN AMRO, Mr Bahl was Regional Head of Secured and Unsecured Lending at Standard Chartered bank, and before that SCB's Global Marketing Head, Credit Cards and Personal Loans based in Singapore.

He also held several leadership roles with Citibank: Regional Cards Director, EMEA; Regional Marketing Director, Latin America; Cards Marketing Director, Indonesia and Bankcards Marketing Manager, India.
