UNX, Inc., the independent institutional brokerage and market structure experts, announced today the appointment of Scott Harrison as President and Chief Operating Officer.

Coincident with his appointment, he has been elected to UNX's Board of Directors and will become Co-chairman of the firm's Operating Committee.

In his new role, Mr. Harrison will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the firm, including all operating and support groups. He will report directly to Michael Dura, CEO of UNX, and to the firm's Board of Directors.

Mr. Harrison joins UNX after more than 13 years of senior level management, sales, and technology experience at Investment Trading Group, Inc. (ITG). In his most recent role at ITG, Mr. Harrison was a Director of Global Trading Products in charge of expanding the company's trading applications and algorithmic services into global markets. Before that, he held several positions at ITG, one of which was Director of Product Management for the firm's equity trading products. In this role he oversaw the management and development of ITG's Triton and QuantEX product lines.

"Scott is a highly skilled professional who brings an extensive record of vision, execution and success in our space," Mr. Dura said. "His background and capabilities are a perfect fit for UNX."

"UNX is known in the industry for its superior quality of execution and technology," Mr. Harrison added. "I'm excited to work with the team here as they enhance existing products and launch new services that improve the overall trading experience for UNX's institutional clients."

Prior to his career in finance, Mr. Harrison was an accomplished architect working for Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM), one of the foremost architectural firms in the world. He earned a Bachelor of Architecture from Louisiana State University.
