Farnum will play a key role in launching innovative products and services within Sidekick’s alternative asset class offering.

Bringing almost a decade of experience from her previous roles in venture capital, including as a Partner at London-based fintech VC fund Mouro Capital and previously at Samsung Ventures, Farnum will focus on launching and expanding Sidekick’s alternative asset class offering, which aims to include private equity, private credit, venture capital, and real estate, among others.

Commenting on her appointment, Alessandra Farnum, Alternatives Product Lead, at Sidekick, said, “ Democratising access to family office-style services is something Matt and I are both passionate about. Sidekick provides access to exclusive investment opportunities, unique liquidity options, and (soon) alternative asset classes, all aimed at unlocking new avenues for wealth accumulation for today’s investors. Having worked in venture investing into great FinTech startups, I can now apply knowledge learned on the other side of the table at Sidekick. We have an incredible team here and together we’ll support the wealth ambitions of modern investors.”

Sidekick addresses the wealth gap in the financial services sector by providing access to financial products and services typically reserved for the ultra wealthy. Sidekick offers a modern approach to wealth management with tailored solutions that resonate with hard-working professionals and entrepreneurs actively seeking avenues to meaningfully grow their wealth.

Matt Ford, Co-Founder and CEO of Sidekick added, “Alessandra’s experience in venture capital and private markets will be instrumental in launching alternatives on Sidekick. Her innate understanding of this asset class and ability to identify emerging trends make her the right person to lead this initiative. We are certain she will be a driving force in Sidekick's growth journey as we expand to new products and services”.

Sidekick has obtained a comprehensive set of regulatory permissions from the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and launched its actively managed Flagship equity product in January. Offering a low minimum portfolio requirement of just £1,000, investors receive a premium product set and service, including expertly managed investments, regular portfolio updates, insights into market trends, and broader investment themes, typically reserved for portfolios of £500,000 to £1 million and upwards. With the appointment of Farnum, Sidekick aims to expand this suite of products to include access to alternative investments later in the year.
