Experian says the acquisition of the business, called Atos Origin DMS, is part of its strategy to move into the BPO market. The operation provides document processing services including remittance, reminders, orders and subscription management as well as cheque processing.

Under the deal, Experian says Atos Origin will continue to provide data processing services to its ersthile subsidiary in order ensure business continuity.

Ludovic Denis, regional director, Experian, comments: "We are confident that, together with the teams of Atos Origin DMS who we are warmly welcoming, we will build together an efficient, reliable and long lasting industrial capability that will help our clients strengthen their customer relation management."

Atos Origin says the transaction largely completes its portfolio rationalisation plan implemented following the merger of French firm Atos and Dutch IT services company Origin in October 2000.
