Barclays Bank extends edotech document production contract

Barclays Bank has signed a new seven year outsourcing agreement worth £150 million with UK-based edotech for the production and delivery of its document-based customer communications.

The contract replaces a five year deal signed in May 2000, which had been part of the management buy-out of edotech which is the former in-house document solutions business at Barclays. At that time, 180 Barclays staff transferred across to edotech.

As part of the new agreement, edotech will provide Barclays with digital colour printing and delivery through its Print & Mail service, document formatting to support marketing activity and archiving services. The vendor will also supply an electronic bill presentment service which is currently being trialled.

Sue Brooks, head of supply relationships for Barclays, says: "Our products and services rely heavily on the very best in customer communication, and edotech's approach and technical capabilities will therefore play a valuable role in enabling our ongoing delivery of this."
