Fidelity Information Services had entered into an agreement to acquire WebTone Technologies, an Atlanta-based provider of customer interaction management software for financial institutions.
WebTone's flagship product, TouchPoint, is designed to help financial firms improve sales by providing consistent communication across channels and business units.
Fidelity will combine WebTone with its current service delivery team to form a new TouchPoint Solutions division. Jim Szyperski, president and chief executive officer of WebTone Technologies, will be tapped to head the new division. He will report to Roger Leitner, president of Fidelity Information Services' enterprise banking solutions unit.
Szyperski says: "The focus of the new division is to help financial organisations fully optimise customer interactions across all channels."
Financial details have not been disclosed. The transaction is expected to close in the third quarter.
