Kuwait-based International Turnkey Systems (ITS) has signed an agreement to distribute, implement and support Aconite's EMV, smart card and security software and consulting services to local firms in the Middle East.
Aconite says the partnership supports its expansion plans in the region where ITS' substantial presence will provide immediate coverage across UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Oman, Bahrain, Kuwait, Jordan and Syria.
Bev Steven, Aconite's recently-appointed Middle East director, says firms in the region are preparing for EMV but there are distinct variances in the stages of development achieved in different countries.
"There is therefore a wealth of opportunities for Aconite and ITS to provide strategic consultancy and offer a range of EMV solutions across the region," he adds.
