Burgess has over 35 years experience as a technology industry executive and is a leading figure in the Irish business community. He served as managing director of IBM Ireland from 1991 to 2002.

He is currently chairman of both the Irish National Competitiveness Council and the Digital Hub - two initiatives set up by the Irish government to promote enterprise development.

This appointment follows the recent announcement that Prudential director Isabel Hudson has also joined the privately-held company as a non-executive director.
