India's ICICI Bank is implementing business process management (BPM) and workflow technology from Staffware to automate and accelerate processes across its retail and corporate banking operations.
The bank will use Staffware's Process Suite to streamline and manage all document exchange flows, including account opening at its retail banking business and trade finance at its corporate banking division.
Nirupama Guruprasad, deputy general manager, ICICI Bank, says: "Effective workflow was essential to achieve our aim of processing applications faster and more effectively, whilst at the same time improving customer service levels."
Guruprasad adds that Staffware's knowledge of the Indian banking industry was also crucial in the selection.
ICICI says it has integrated Process Suite with the OmniDocs document management system from NewGen, as well as existing systems already deployed at the bank such as Finacle from Infosys.
Staffware is also providing enterprise-wide workflow support for other areas within the bank, including its life insurance business ICICI Prudential and general insurance department Lombard ICICI.
