Taishin Bank is the second-largest issuer in Taiwan with 3.5 million cards in circulation.

Daniel Tsai, Taishin president, says the bank decided to take advantage of the switch to chip and unlock the value of EMV by adding new applications.

Welcome's XLS platform is designed to boost revenue from smart cards with additional services such as instantly awarded loyalty points, coupons, punch cards, special events and cash back features.

Says Tsai: "Welcome's successful reference sites and their platform independent software technology helped make our choice easier."
