First National Bank, the main acquiring banking institution in South Africa, has selected Ingenico as the sole supplier for its EMV deployment program.

The initial agreement calls for Ingenico to install up to 10,000 terminals during the next twelve months with potential orders of 30,000 to 40,000 terminals.

First National claims more than a third of the South-African eftpos market representing an installed base of over 130,000 terminals.
