HBOS Card Services has selected Cyota to deliver MasterCard SecureCode and Verified by Visa services to its five million credit cardholders, in the first commercial roll-out of the twin online authentication systems in the UK.
The Cyota SecureSuite package uses the self-selected password services of MasterCard SecureCode and Verified by Visa to authenticate cardholders during online transactions at participating merchants.
The card authentication programmes require cardholders to enter their private password in a virtual receipt before online transactions can be approved and completed.
HBOS Card Services will host the service at Cyota's local facility in London.
