Level Four Software, a provider of ATM test and development software, has released 3DES FastTrack, a new component of its Channel Development Suite designed to help banks prepare networks for compliance with the Triple-DES security standard.
The module allows banks to simulate an ATM with Triple-DES cryptography, run tests from a desktop environment and identify any errors that occur during testing.
Jan Rees, business development manager, Level Four Software, says with the introduction of EMV smart cards and PIN at point of sale (PoS), ensuring the security of consumer data becomes even more important.
"3DES FastTrack will enable banks to troubleshoot new ATM security and risk management features with confidence and be ready for the mandated Triple-DES compliance in 2005," says Rees.
In addition, 3DES FastTrack provides vendor independent testing for ATM key management and distribution and can also help banks in the introduction of remote key management strategies and encrypted PIN pad (EPP) devices by imitating functions such as key storage, secure key exchange and the generation of the encrypted PIN value (PIN block generation).
