UK ATM solutions vendor Level Four Software has announced that its FastTrack testing product now supports EMV-certified software from cash machine manufacturers, including NCR, Diebold and Wincor-Nixdorf.
The move follows the recent EMV-certification of leading European ATM suppliers and means that banks upgrading networks can now work with Level Four to conduct full end-to-end testing in preparation for the 2005 compliance deadline.
Martin Macmillan, CEO, Level Four, says the EMV certification of ATM manufacturers will spur many banks to begin compliance projects.
"To date many have adopted a 'wait and see' attitude until initial pilots were complete and certified software available," he says.
Research conducted late last year by Finextra on behalf of Level Four found that 48% of banks in EMEA have not progressed further than the initial planning stage for migrating ATM networks to EMV (see The smart card revolution - is the market ready for EMV).
