FIX Protocol Limited has expanded its global steering committee to reflect the expansion of the front office messaging standard into fixed income and derivatives and elected its first chairman.
The composition of the group now includes the leadership of all FPL association, region, service and product committee chairs, including Daniel Doscas of Lehman Brothers from the fixed income side and Jim Northey of the LaSalle Technology Group representing global derivatives.
Michael O'Conor, managing director of global client connectivity at Merrill Lynch was unanimously elected as chairman.
He says: "The response to opening up membership has exceeded our expectations. We now have representation from all firm types spanning multiple markets and products."
