Under the £145 million contract, BT will continue to provide managed Local Area Networks (LAN), Wide Area Networks (WAN) and Internet Protocol (IP) infrastructure to NAG's head office and 800 branches in the UK and Ireland.

The deal also includes the supply and provision of voice, data and telecommunication services, including Intranet and Internet applications, remote access and security services.

In addition, BT says it will implement a structured technology consultancy programme to provide access to new products and market research.

Darryl West, CIO Europe, NAG, says: "Through outsourcing to BT, NAG is gaining technical, financial and business flexibility by having access to a much wider skills base."

As well as providing ICT services to the company's European operations, BT also manages NAG's global WAN network and commissioned a contact centre based in Kilmarnock which handles telephone banking enquiries.
