UK bank Bradford & Bingley has signed a new 10 year ICT outsourcing contract, worth £140 million, with BT.
Under the deal, BT will deliver managed voice and data service to the bank's 7500 employees, including wide and local area networking to connect more than 550 sites across the UK.
BT will also host and manage Bradford & Bingley's e-infrastructure and online services. The contract includes security and disaster recovery services and remote dial-up connectivity into the bank's network for more than 1000 independent financial advisors.
Bradford & Bingley outsourced part of its communications infrastructure to BT in 1998. Steve Partington, partner relationship manager, Bradford & Bingley, says: "Through this extension to our relationship, we have been able to dramatically reduce our supplier base, which will significantly reduce our communications overheads."
BT earlier this week anounced a five year contract worth £125 million with Abbey National for the supply and management of an IP network.
