US bank Wachovia has appointed Martin Davis to the newly created position of corporate chief information officer (CIO).
In his new role Davis will oversee technology for Wachovia's business units, including capital management, corporate and investment banking, retail, shared services and wealth.
Davis joined Wachovia in 1985 and has held positions supporting technology in retail, wealth and corporate and investment banking.
He is currently CIO of the firm's commercial technology unit and will assume his new role immediately, reporting to Jean Davis, head of IT, e-commerce and operations.
