Based in New York and reporting to president and CEO Joseph De Feo, Butterfield will be responsible for CLS Group's marketing, brand, communication and product strategies.

Butterfield joins CLS Bank from ABN Amro where he was managing director, financial institutions and public sector division, global transaction services.

Prior to this, he held senior positions within Chase Manhattan Bank and Chemical Banking Corporation.

CLS Bank links seven of the world's central banks and many financial institutions in a global banking settlement system and, since its launch in September 2002, has successfully settled over $30 trillion in foreign exchange trade.
