Offered on an execution-only basis, the service gives customers access to more than 600 funds from nearly 50 providers including Norwich Union, Standard Life, Invesco Perpetual and Credit Suisse.

Investors will receive a 2.5% discount of any initial set up charges from the fund providers.

The service, operated by US fund supermarket provider Fidelity Investment, also offers "ready wrapped" investment packages where customers can choose their preferred type of investment option.

Peter McAuley, Leeds & Holbeck’s head of financial services, says: "Fundstore is an execution-only service with no advice or recommendation involved. It is a one-stop shop where people can compare individual fund performance, manage their investments, buy and sell individual funds or select ready-wrapped fund packages that we have created for their convenience."
