Oregan-based banking systesm vendor Corillian Corporation has promoted its president, Alex Hart, to interim CEO, stepping in for company founder Ted Spooner who is shunted to a board-level committee role.
Hart joined the company in April 2000 as executive vice president of corporate development and has served as its president since January 2001.
He previously worked at Microsoft where he was vice president of business development at the company's EBPP venture and was also business development manager in its personal finance division.
Prior to this, Hart was vice president of product management and strategic alliances at CheckFree Corporation and has also held a number of management roles at NationsBank (now Bank of America).
Incumbent CEO Spooner has been appointed chairman of the executive committee of the board of directors. He will also assume a newly created role of chief corporate strategist.
The company says it will initiate a CEO search, for which Hart is a candidate, and begin evaluating qualified applicants immediately.
