Scandinavian banking conglomerate Nordea has created a new group processing and technology division, charged with speeding up consolidation of enterprise-wide integration projects.

The unit has been established under the auspices of new CEO Lars Nordström. Markku Pohjola, currently head of corporate and institutional banking, has been appointed head of the new division, which will consist of group IT, electronic banking, global operations services and production & productivity.

In a further shake-up of top level management, Kari Jordan, head of retail banking Finland and Peter Schutze, head of retail banking Denmark have been appointed new members of group executive management; Jordan as head of retail banking and Schutze as head of group staffs.

Tom Ruud, currently in charge of group staffs, has taken on Pohjola's job in corporate and institutional banking.
