Reuters moves Asian support ops to Sydney

Reuters is to centralise its Asian customer support call centres in Sydney, consolidating existing desks in Hong Kong, Japan and Singapore.

Reuters says a global database will provide customer service executives with instant access to client details, history and product queries. The company also promise local language support for each Asian market within the "home" time zone, and 24-hour English language support on a "follow the sun" basis.

David Brocklehurst, managing director, Reuters Australia & New Zealand, says the condolidation of support services in Sydney "places Reuters in an excellent position to provide Asian language support with full Asian time-zone coverage".
