Providian Financial Corporation has appointed Amercian Express man James Saber as chief information officer, effective 15 July, 2002.
Saber joins Providian from American Express in New York, where he was most recently responsible for consumer and small business service technologies. He has also worked in a number of technology roles at Bankers Trust Company and American Express Bank.
