The order is the first concrete deliverable from an existing agreement signed by the Norwegian bank and vendor in December 2001 to collaborate on the development of new banking systems. The agreement, which is intended to realise Sparebank 1's multi-channel strategy, runs for three years with a minimum overall value of Nkr100 million.

The new messaging component will provide customers with a range of delivery channel options for communicating with the bank. The new credit processing system for retail banking will deliver a system for online credit approval.
