Verdibanken plans to launch a full-service banking operation in the first quarter of 2003, for religious organisations and similar entities. The target customer group will also include retail and corporate customers looking for a fund manager that emphasises Christian ethics and social responsibility.

Under the agreement with EDB, Verdibanken will purchase IT systems and functionality for the management and operation of the bank, as well as self-service e-banking solutions for the bank's customers. Verdibanken is also making use of consultancy services from EDB for setting up the bank, training and the implementation of the EDB Fellesdata banking systems.

Computer operating services will be supplied by EDB Teamco.
