Dublin-based banking component software vendor Eontec has adopted Web services technology to support interoperability between its J2EE applications and Microsoft .NET on the desktop.

Eontec says it has successfully proven that its financial components are portable across UDDI, WSDL and SOAP implementations from Web services market leaders such as IBM and BEA. As such they now come with a WSDL definition making them available for use as Web services.

Colin Piper, president of North American operations, Eontec, says: "Financial institutions that plan to utilise Web services technology can now be confident that Eontec solutions will support that strategy."
