Italy's Banca IMI has completed integration of front and back office applications acrosss the bank using integration software from SeeBeyond.
Mr. Grazioli, CIO for Banca IMI, says one of the key goals of the bank's 'Integration Infrastructure Project' has been to reduce the number of messaging errors, postings and lost messages that regularly occurred under the previous EAI infrastructure.
"These errors, coupled with the message delivery failure, had regularly generated issues which required significant manual reconciliation to avoid inaccurate reporting," he says. "Since the initial SeeBeyond deployment, however, no such errors or loss of message data has occurred. Delivery is guaranteed, in real time, even if the target application is down, and regardless of the size the message."
Banca IMI deployed SeeBeyond to integrate its front office applications with the various markets that the bank is trading on as well as to integrate its front and back office applications.
Carlo Dozio, manager for the data management group at Banca IMI, says the project has reaped significant operational benefits, enabling the bank to quickly move towards real-time, end-to-end straight-through processing, with full trade visibility across counterparty, geography and instrument.
