ASX has been using OM's Click system for options trading for the past six years. Futures contracts were introduced on the system in January this year.

Magnus Böcker, chief operating Officer at OM, welcomed the agreement, noting that the Click contract win with ASX in 1997 motivated the vendor to establish an operational presence in Sydney with the view to establishing it is an Asia Pacific hub.

Seperately, OM has announced the sucessful start of trading on the Saxess platform at the Oslo Borse. The introduction of the trading system in Norway follows long delays in the delivery of a stable upgrade for use by exchange participants in the Norex alliance - Copenhagen Stock Exchange, Iceland Stock Exchange, Oslo Bourse and Stockholmsbörsen.
