Built completely on Java technology, mCash 2.0 supports mobile payments via SMS text messaging and WAP, virtual payments in retail stores, integration with merchant retail systems and national banking networks. Wireless promotions and e-coupons are also now available through the mCash system.

The new release also offers network monitoring and fraud detection systems, says the company.

In a separate announcement, Nexage has signed marketing and sales agreements with Media Portal Japan Co. and Engepart - Assessoria e Participacoes, to roll out mCash systems in Japan and Brazil, respectively.

Frank Marques, president of Engepart Brazil, notes: "The features and functionality such as mobile payments via SMS to retail store merchants are unlike any of its competitors."
