Buy-side trading systems supplier Macgregor has appointed former Omgeo MD Kevin Milne as executive vice president.
Based in London, Milne will be responsible for spearheading the company’s international growth. He is also charged with expanding Macgregor's European development operation in Madrid to support the region's growing client base. He will report to president and CEO Steven Levy.
Prior to joining the company, Milne was executive managing director of Omgeo (the joint venture between Thomson Financial and the DTCC), and was responsible for all aspects of the business outside of the Americas.
Prior to this he was with Thomson's Electronic Settlement Group. His role at Macgregor is similar to the job he took on when he joined Thomson ESG, which at the time was viewed in Europe and Asia as a US company peddling a US solution.
Milne is relishing the challenge. "Joining Macgregor is a fantastic opportunity," he says. "I have said for many years that the slow uptake of buy-side technology has been a major inhibitor to industry-wide STP."
