Microsoft showcases MSN Money Professional

Microsoft is showcasing a beta version of MSN Money Professional, a subscription-based financial management and advisory service built on .NET technology, at the Demo 2002 conference in Phoenix.

MSN Money Professional combines select Passport and .NET Alerts with secure document publishing, portfolio reporting and financial content from the MSN Money Web site and is intended to enable advisors to provide clients with customised breaking news, portfolio updates, relevant reports and stock quotes.

Four wealth management firms, Avalon Advisors, Plante & Moran, Security Trust and SYM Financial have chosen to deploy Advent Software's WealthLine service, which is built on MSN Money Professional. The companies will join the WealthLine Advisory Council to test the service and help finalise its functionality before the live version launches later this year.

Erik Jorgensen, general manager for the financial products group at Microsoft, comments: "By presenting Advent's WealthLine solution, we're able to demonstrate how ISVs can utilise .NET services to facilitate more effective client communications in the finance industry."
