Norddeutsche Landesbank Girozentrale (Nord/LB) has gone live with Misys International Banking Systems’ Midas core banking system at its new international branch office in Helsinki.
Midas has been implemented to provide support for the full range of transactions generated by the bank's international corporate banking business, says the company. Implementation took less than two months.
Nord/LB is already using Midas at overseas branches in London, New York, Singapore, Stockholm and Vilnius. The package was chosen for the Helsinki office in line with the bank's policy of standardising on a common platform for international branch operations.
Eero Niomioja, managing director of Nord/LB’s operations in Helsinki, explains: “Business volumes have increased dramatically since the office was established just under a year ago. The success of this venture has confirmed the bank’s original decision to continue the expansion of its business operations in Finland, and upgrade the Helsinki representative office to full international branch status.”
