Wood's appointment follows a strategic investment in Lost Wax by Prudential in September 2001. As part of the deal, Lost Wax is working with the UK insurance company to look at ways of developing next generation business solutions for financial services using agent technology.

Tom Ilube, CEO Lost Wax, says: "We look forward to working closely with Mark and to introducing innovative software solutions that have the potential to transform the retail financial services industry".

Lost Wax software agents are built using Java/J2EE and Microsoft .NET technologies and are designed to cope with complex, changing environments and automate online tasks as part of e-commerce and CRM solutions. Financial sector customers include the Baltic Exchange, Egg, and General Motors online finance division.
