Under the deal, the two companies will deliver a joint authentication solution that pairs the SchlumbergerSema family of smart card products with the BioNetrix Authentication Suite software platform.

Using the authentication suite, organisations will be able to deploy and manage SchlumbergerSema smart cards with other authentication methods to conclusively verify users' identities when they sign on to corporate networks to access information, say the companies.

As part of the partnership, BioNetrix has joined the SchlumbergerSema Associate Programme.

BioNetrix, which claims to support more than 20 advanced authentication methods, enables corporations to implement and manage a combination of authentication technologies - from biometrics to smart cards - via a single network management console.
