Computer Sciences Corporation has created an Emea Strategic Solutions Unit for developing and delivering claims management services for the UK insurance industry.
The new claims unit will assist insurers across the Emea region in the detection of fraudulent or excessive claims and the efficient management of third-party suppliers such as repair shops and lawyers.
John Maitz, vice president for CSC financial services Emea, who will head the new unit, says it will focus on cost containment and risk management. He says CSC's professional services and products are able to cut claims costs by up to 20%.
"It is not just a case of cutting obvious costs or plugging financial leaks...There are many opportunities to save money through increased efficiency in the claims handling process," he notes.
