Klarna welcomes Snoop Dogg as new shareholder

Rap icon Snoop Dogg is joining POS financing house Klarna as a shareholder and the global face of a new advertising campaign, 'Get Smoooth'.

Billed by Klarna as 'the smoothest man alive', Snoop Dogg will take time off from bragging about the strength of his weed to promote the smooth payments experience promised by the Swedish fintech.

Away from his super laid-back persona, Snoop is also a shrewd businessman - his portfolio includes a marijuana delivery business in California (natch), Reddit and commission-free trading app Robinhood. He says he will leverage his investment in Klarna to enter the European tech markets.

"I've been looking for an opportunity to expand my tech investment portfolio to Europe and seeing the way Klarna operates and how they challenge the status quo, I think it’s a match made in heaven," he drawls. "I’m very excited about this partnership.says Snoop Dogg.

As part of the campaign, Snoop stars in a series of videos, the first of which sees him joined by a pair of golden haired Afghan hounds as prepares for his coronation to Smoooth Dogg…
